Rangers commit to a decade of playing matches at KGV

Rangers commit to a decade of playing matches at KGV

Henry Carre6 Sep - 09:00

Next 10 Years of Rangers at the KGV

It is virtually a whole month before their first Priaulx League home game of the season against Bels, but Rangers are marking the end of summer by celebrating a return to the KGV.

Following a one-year break, the club have signed up to a 10-year agreement with KGV whereby all of their Priaulx, U18, U16, youth and minis football will be played at the venue.

‘KGV and Rangers have built a strong partnership. They’re a positive and collaborative club and we’re looking forward to strengthening that relationship even further,’ said KGV director Stuart Le Prevost.

It is also a move that suits Rangers’ senior head coach Charlie Pinsard.

‘I’ve really enjoyed the last couple of years at Rangers. Playing our first home game at KGV this Priaulx season will continue to help us lift our standards.

‘We’ve got a great bunch of senior players, many of them under 21. They are ambitious, committed, and want to challenge themselves — exactly what this club is about,’ said the man who succeeded Chris Tardif in the top seat at the club.

The club’s backroom hierarchy are pleased with the positive direction too.

‘Rangers is in a really good place right now in terms of facilities,’ said club president, Jono Robilliard.

‘Our refurbished clubhouse at St Andrew’s will continue to host Division Two and veterans matches and act as a social hub for members. At the same time, the KGV will be our core football home – one of the best grass pitches on the island, supported by top-class changing rooms, a great clubhouse and 3G pitches that guarantee training all year round,’ he added.

Robilliard reported that the club has grown its mini section to more than 170 players who turn up every Saturday, and has seen encouraging progress across youth age groups, and enjoyed new energy in the senior set-up under Pinsard’s leadership.

Meanwhile, chairman Mark Bousfield said the club were laying foundations for success.

‘It’s been an awfully long time since Rangers lifted a first-team title, but everything we’ve built off the pitch in recent years shows we are creating the right platform.

‘With Charlie creating a competitive and inclusive environment for the senior squad, and so many talented young players coming through the youth sides, I’m confident that if we keep our collective focus and keep having fun, success on the pitch will follow.’
